Modeling a Four-Wheel Drive Powertrain
Simscape Driveline™ components are used to model a four-wheel drive powertrain. The powertrain can be configured to use different types of front, rear, and center differentials. Limited-slip differentials are modeled using nonlinear dampers, clutches, and non-backdrivable worm gears. Simscape Driveline tire models enable testing the effectiveness of the differentials and control algorithms under challenging road conditions, such as when only two of the tires are on a slippery surface.
