Symbolic Math Toolbox - Crash
Show older comments
I'm desperate, suddenly Symbolic Math Toolbox doesn't work. I have searched several helps on this forum, but none has my problem.
Easy, when I use a function in Symbolic Math Toolbox (not other functions), Matlab crashes without error messages. I have tried to download toolbox apart, tried to reinstall Matlab 2017b, tried to use Matlab 2018a, i cannot solve my problem.
Please for your answers.

The bu report claims that the bug has been fixed by Matlab 2017b with Update7 . This seems not true since my installation (academic edition) claims to be fully update while falling into this annoying bug just by executing sym a in the command window. Matlab restart is necessary! Very annoying.

"my instlalation (academic edition) claims to be fully update[sic]"
Trust but verify. Check the output of the ver function. If the MATLAB Version row lists that you're running an Update version, then your installation has been updated. If it doesn't, you aren't and you should go to the Bug Report to which Stephen linked, download it, and install it.
