Modeling a Custom Hydraulic Valve
Simscape Fluids™ is used to test a few different architectures for an electrohydraulic servovalve. Designs that contain spool dynamics (a flapper-nozzle with a centering spring and a flapper-nozzle with a feedback spring) are included. Each of these are compared to an abstract valve model that approximates the dynamics of the more complex models. Hydraulic forces on the spool are also included. Variant subsystems and a custom UI are used to switch between the different architectures and levels of model fidelity.
