Giampiero Campa
I am originally from the Puglia region, in south-east Italy. I have received both Laurea (EE, 1996 with a period at Strathclyde University) and PhD (Robotics and Automation, 2000, with a period at Georgia Tech) from the University of Pisa, Italy. From 2000 to 2008 I have been a faculty member at West Virginia University. My research at WVU involved system identification, adaptive and nonlinear control, fault tolerant systems, machine vision, and sensor fusion, especially applied to UAVs. This research resulted in around 30 peer-reviewed articles in international journals, about 60 research papers for international conferences, and a couple of book chapters. I have been working for MathWorks since January 2009 for MathWorks, covering different roles, first in the Los Angeles office and then in Natick (MA). I am now responsible for the documentation of the Reinforcement Learning and Model Predictive Control toolboxes.
