Does MATLAB/Simulink has support for TI's FAST estimator and C2000 F280049C controller?

Hi,
I am planning to use TI's FAST estimator from InstaSPIN-FOC solution for PMSM FOC control application using C2000 F280049C controller. I would also like to develop control algorithm in MATLAB/Simulink environment. But before making any decisions, would like to confirm few things first:-
  1. Does MATLAB/Simulink has support for FAST estimator? If not any plans to support this in near future?
  2. Does MATLAB/Simulink has support for code generation for target F280049C?
Best,
Amit

We do not support FAST, but we can mention this request to our development team. As a comparison, you may want to look at Motor Control Blockset for developing embedded software for motor control. It supports TI LAUNCHXL-F28069M and LAUNCHXL-F28379D.
Also, this TI post about Simulink working with InstaSPIN may be useful.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the information. I think it would be very beneficial for the entire community if MathWorks starts supporting FAST estimator and it would definetely add more values in Motor Control Blokset too.
Btw, does motor control blockset support TI LAUNCHXL-F280049C?
Best,
Amit

Hi Rahul,
Thank you for responding.
What about support for FAST estimator? If not any plans to support this in near future?

Hi Amit,
I have an updated news for you. In R2020a release, Motor Control Blockset new product is launched. Refer the Flux Observer block, this block reads PMSM motor current and voltage, outputs position, flux, torque. Also speed measurement blocks which reads position and outputs speed. I believe this will help you and meets your requirement.
Refer the videos for better understanding the product.
I appreciate your queries and feel free to post.
