Are FMU/FMI exported from Simulink working with CarMaker software?

The baseline is that FMU Tool-Coupling Co-Sim Export should work in CarMaker.
It is using the FMI 2.0 interface standard.
Please use the following workflow to export a FMU starting with R2019a: 
The workflow in R2018b is a little bit different, please check the following page: 
Please run the below in the command window of installed MATLAB R2018b version to get release specific documentation

If not, you maybe missed some steps in CarMaker. Please be aware that this is a 3rd Party Product and our Technical Support team is only providing support for our own products.
In the attachments you find a PDF with some screenshots with the most important steps, where you can see how the Simulink FMUs can be imported into CarMaker.
