This error occurs when your University has not listed you as being a valid user within the University's Shibboleth system.
You must have one or more of the following eduPersonScopedAffiliation values:
To test it, reproduce the error, and when you are on the page that says “Not Permitted”, copy and paste the link below into the same browser.
The output should look like this, for example:
Session Expiration (barring inactivity): 479 minute(s)
Client Address:
SSO Protocol: urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:protocol
Identity Provider: urn:mace:incommon:your-university.edu
Authentication Time: 2020-04-21T11:09:10Z
Authentication Context Class: urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:ac:classes:Password
Authentication Context Decl: (none)
Shibmail: username@your-university.edu
affiliation: faculty@your-university.edu;staff@your-university.edu;
givenName: firstname
sn: lastname
Next Steps
  1. Navigate to the Attributes section and look for affiliation.
  2. You should see one of the required values, faculty/staff/student/employee@your-university.edu next to affiliation.
If "affiliation" is missing or you don't see one of the required values displayed, contact your University IT department with this information so they can map your account with one of the required values needed to access the MATLAB License.
