How to permanently set the startup folder?

Hi everyone! I am using Matlab R2018a and am unable to set the startup folder. I used the General Preferences option of Environment section to save the initial working folder. When I close the current session and restart Matlab, my startup folder is not what I set the initial working folder as in the previous session. Could you please me?

Do you start Matlab from shortcut icon?
I suspect you need to Run As Administrator once.
For your Matlab Shortcut Icon on desktop, please right click and select 'Properties' and then put your complete path in 'Start In' filed and restart your matlab and check.
Thanks for your response everyone! @Stephan - Hey,I already tried this. Didn't work. @Walter - Yes, you're right. @Shameer - I need administrative rights for this.
Hey we only need to change the default value of userpath() to a folder, we would like to see as the startup folder for each matlab session. Check link below to see how this is done.
