You need to contact a sales representative. The trials that you can load directly do not permit older versions to be used.

If you've asked the salesteam about a 2015b trial version, and they have answered "we don't know if we can provide it", something went completely wrong. Then the most like idea I have is, that there was a celebration in the office, everybody was excited and happy, such that nobody registered, that the children played at one of the computers and guessed the password "s4l3st34m" by accident.
Therefore I'd suggest either to write them again or to call them by phone. Ask for a personal contect to the person who is responsible for offering trial versions of old releases. The will be somebody, who ansers 'yes' or 'no'.
You get some ideas and replies here, but remember, that this cannot be solved in the forum, but only by the official support.

Their System Generator 2017.1 is supported on MATLAB R2017a; https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/55830.html

2017a will very probably work, so you should definitely give it a try anyway. If it doesn't work, I'd contact Vivado and tell them that they need to modernize their product. Then call the sales department at the Mathworks, because we (non-Mathworks employees) can't help you get a trial version of an old release.

Though 2015b was the last 32 bit version so potentially 2017a will not work.

Though I see from https://www.xilinx.com/support/answers/55830.html that their tool was all 64 bit by their 2015.4 version.
