Simulink Test Manager - "An internal error has occured. Restart MATLAB before proceeding. If this problem persists, please contact MathWorks."

I receive this error message upon starting Simulink Test Manager. After clearing the error box, Simulink Test Manager will not run.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing. It did not fix the issue.
Is there some cache or some persistent storage that I can clear to fix the issue?
Using MATLAB 2015b and Simulink Test V1.1

This is the fix that worked for me as per MathWorks:
1. Go to tempdir (type tempdir in MATLAB to find the location)
2. Clear *.dmr file
3. Restart MATLAB

As the message requests, please contact MathWorks. Specifically, please contact Technical Support using the Contact Us link in the upper-right corner of this page. The Support staff will want to know what you were doing when you received that error so they and the developers can investigate the cause and hopefully provide you with a solution or a workaround.

I initially had Matlab quitting once I had the Test Manger initiated with the data file. The above suggestion - cleanup *.dmr temp files resolved the Matlab closure. Now I am getting Java exception ==> heap error. Any suggestion I am running windows 7 & Matlab 2016a
