PI control techniques for speed control of a BLDC motor

6 views (last 30 days)
Hey guys, I am presently trying to tune a PI controller to control my BLDC motor, i have tried good gain method, ziegler nichles (excuse spelling) tuning for desired parameters i.e. for max overshoot and settling time by equating coefficients. I am still not satisfied with the results.
Reasons:
1. the settling voltage is above the rated value for the motor. 2. the initial start voltage value is very high since the error is maximum at start up, based on the Kp value the starting voltage will also be high. This is not good practically.
So. Are there any other methods i can use that is preffered for tuning a PI controller for motor control??.

Try to use trial and error method

Auto tuning of PID is available in matlab. According to your requirements you con model your voltage level. you have to use non linear tuning for this.
