Sorry. I was going to write some code for surfaces of revolution a few years ago. Did not finish it, probably because I was not sure what I wanted the result to be, and what degree of flexibility it needed. Sadly, there are a lot of tools I've partly built over the years, so I have a moderately large bone yard of code, round tuits. :(
You can get what you want, (I think, if Im guessing right about what you want) by starting with a cylinder, then a simple linear transformation of it would give you the blue thingy.
Anyway, what result would you want to see? I.e., a triangulated surface? Just a pretty picture? Both? Something else?
