We are performing a research in control lab at University . We decided to implement a designed controller (at Matlab/Simulink) with a real PLC and for this goal we are going to use PLC Coder capability of Matlab/Simulink. Now we think about ordering a PLC Trainer set for this research. Considering this specific feature (PLC Coder), what PLC type (and corresponding IDE) do you suggest more between Rockwell (RSLogix 5000) and Siemens (Simatic Step 7)? I know that this feature supports both two brands, but which one is more problem-free and passed a better experience for PLC Coder?

Thank you
