Execution of script rref as a function is not supported:

Hi,

I am running the script as per below:

a = [1,1,5;4,2,8;3,2,9];

b = [12;28;26];

rank(a);

rank([a,b]);

%%pinv(a)*b

rref([a,b])

But it's getting the error as Execution of script rref as a function is not supported:

I have checked the following thing.

-> Checked for the file with the same name.

-> Checked for file with rref using which<rref> - all and also checked for which<example_3> -all as well

I don't know how you're getting that error unless there is indeed a script with that name. rref() is part of the base toolbox back to at least R2009b, so I can't think of a way you could be having a problem if it weren't shadowed by a script ... or unless it had been altered.

You say you tried using which(), but you didn't say what it returned.

% which files on the path are called rref?
which rref -all

/MATLAB/toolbox/matlab/matfun/rref.m
/MATLAB/toolbox/symbolic/symbolic/@sym/rref.m  % Shadowed sym method

% maybe see if the file starts with a function definition

While using the

which rref -all

i am getting this

Show us the error when you run left_division.

ans = 3×4

1 0 -1 2 0 1 6 10 0 0 0 0

As you can see, with a clean install there doesn't seem to be an issue.

When i use the a\b it is not giving me any error

How do i come to know if it's an installation issue ?
