hi
i have a log file containing numbers as well as words.
i am using the command:
DTA = importdata('filename.log', ',');
but it is loaded as a cell array of strings instead of a struct with data and text seperated. in other log files that i have i did not have this problem
thanks

Please post a copy of part of the content of the log file in your question, e.g. 20-30 lines.

The exact output of importdata() is dependent on the format of the input file. This behavior is described in the "Output Arguments" section of the documentation: http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/importdata.html. Expand the subsection "A -- Data from the file".
