Compile .m function along with one external file(properties file)

Hello there,

I have compiled the .m function along with the external file (properties file) using application compiler. Once I run the compiled version of MATLAB it gives me an error and I believe it is related to the external file. Also I have co-simulation process in my code meaning that I run EnergyPlus program from .m function. EnergyPlus program has been installed on the c:\program file folder. I wonder how I can incorporate these files and compile the code? I would appreciate it if anybody can comments on that.

When you go to open the properties file, how do you tell it which file to open ?
