Curve Fit Using Endpoints of the Data

2 views (last 30 days)
Hi All,
Is there a curve fit function that I can use to force the fit to go through both endpoints of the data? Currently, the fit goes through the left most point but not the right most point. The reason I want to do that is I want to get some extraoplated data from the fit as well.
Thank you,
Lynniz

Lynniz, forcing the curve to go through both endpoints won't improve the extrapolation. Instead, if you have the Curve Fitting Toolbox I would recommend looking at fnxtr. Also, remember that it is unwise to extrapolate very far.

Note that you can also provide weights for the points you're fitting. Giving the endpoints very high weights compared to the other points might get you where you want to be.
