I'm trying to figure out how to use MATLAB in a client/server fashion. Specifically, I'd like to run a program written on my laptop (running Windows) on a server (running Linux). I can do this by uploading the .m files / ssh / running the files at the command prompts / downloading the results. However, I was wondering if there's a way to do this using the parallel computing toolbox in a more efficient manner.
I tried to install the toolbox on both the client and server. However, I am unable to start the mdce process on the server either through the command prompt or using admincenter utility. The problem seems to be that there is no file named mdce in the matlaobroot/toolbox/distcomp/bin directory for me (although there are a bunch of others). This is true for both my Windows and Linux installations. Is there something I'm missing here? Is there some kind of special installation procedure I need to follow? I've done a fair amount of searching online and haven't been able to turn much up.
