Hello,
From my understanding, the installer fails to start in your case.
There are a few reasons the MathWorks installer might fail to run on Windows without displaying an error message or creating a crash logs.
1. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
This behavior indicates that the installation of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable did not complete successfully. There are a few ways you can complete the installation.
Reboot the computer
Most of the time, rebooting the computer will complete the installation. Once the computer has been rebooted, run the MathWorks installer again to proceed past the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installation.
Install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable manually
The Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable can be launched directly from the following folders:
_temp_matlab_R20XXx_win64\bin\win64\vcredist_x64.exe
_temp_matlab_R20XXx_win64\bin\win64\vc90\vcredist_x64.exe
Install both of these and reboot the machine to continue with the installation.
2. Security software
Some security software will interpret the MathWorks installer as a false positive, and prevent the installer from running. To resolve this issue, add the MathWorks installer to your program whitelist, or temporarily disable your security software.
You may need to contact your system administrator to modify your security software settings. If you are unable to change your security settings then you can boot your computer into Safe Mode with networking which will suppress your security software as long as the computer is in Safe Mode.
3. Administrative permissions
You must be a local administrator to install MATLAB. If you are not a local administrator, contact your system administrator for assistance.
4. Installer is corrupt
If the installer fails to launch and provides no error message, the installer may be damaged or corrupt. This may happen because network security software modified the file in transit, however it could just be random corruption. If you suspect the installer is damaged or corrupt, redownload the installer from the MathWorks website.
5. MATLAB installer is on a Network Drive
This issue could be caused if you are running the MathWorks installer from a Network Drive due to lack of permissions. Try downloading the installer on a local drive and running it from that location.
6. System requirements
Your computer may not meet the system requirements for the release of MATLAB you are attempting to install. See the system requirements page for more information:
If none of these suggestions enable you to run the MathWorks installer, please contact MathWorks support:
