Vlaue of Slider --> EditField

Hello I didnt found out how to get the value of the Slider to the EditField, and the other way around. Can somebody help me? I am using MATLAB2020b and the App designer, so I don´t have one of these so called "handles" anymore and they are used in every tutorial. thank you

I don't use app Designer, but isn't it something like

value = app.sliderName.Value;
app.EditField.String = sprintf('%.3f', value);

I changed the names a little bit so it fits my program, but I doesnt work.

String is not a property of EditField component.

Handles of components correspond to their names in the Component Browser.

When I look at one of my App Designer apps, I see this:

app.ThresholdSliderLabel.Text = 'Threshold';

so it should be the Text property, not the String property like it is in GUIDE.

I also see this in my program:

        % Value changed function: ThresholdSlider
        function ThresholdSliderValueChanged(app, event)
            value = app.ThresholdSlider.Value;
            plot(app.UIAxes, rand(1, 10))
        end

so the way I told you to get the slider's value is correct. So I think this should work once you change the names of the controls to match your GUI:

value = app.sliderName.Value;
app.EditField.Text = sprintf('%.3f', value);

The %.3f tells you to format a floating point number with 3 decimal places to the right of the decimal point. You really should learn how sprintf() works. It's a very very important function.

If it didn't work, undo the "Accept", and let us know the reason why it didn't work.

first of all thank you very much for your answer. I am just once a week at uni, thats why I respond a week later sorry. So I tried it again and it still didnt work. Is it because its a NUMERIC edit field? But I didnt found anything on the internet on how else I could solve this problem :/ Could you maybe take a look at at it please?

So this is my code. I want to create a gui to calculate a sin function. The cos was just extra, not important.

In the end the x field should give the value of the Slider and the y field should give the sin.

Looks like it should work. Are you saying that nothing at all changes on the window when you move the slider (except the slider position of course)? Did you debug it? Like by setting a breakpoint in the SliderValueChanging() function and seeing if it ever gets there?

So the sine and the cosine works well, it's really just the problem with the slider. When I want to move the slider I get this error notification:

What properties does it have? Did you ask:
