Hi,
When we say the dimesion of the probelm is 100, is it the same when I have an objective function with 100 variables??
To simplfy, does (Dimesion of the problem = number of variables in our objective function)???
Thanks

Hi
It depends how the objective function has been defined. It may be the objective function have 100 different variables/ have 100 dimensional data.
Usually, dimension means the minimum number of coordinates that are required to represnt a physical quantity. If X represent a measure of a physical quantity and is defined with variable X ~ (x1,x2,....x100), then X is a quantity with 100 dimensions. However, if it is X1,X2.....X100 represents the measure of 100 different quantities then it is 100 different variables where each variable indicates the measure of different quantity.
Hope it will help!
