Hello,
I want to plot eigen vectors and mode shapes of a Timoschenko beam. I already have solved the system using finite element methods and generated stiffness, mass and damping matrices.
I am attaching them as files. I calculated natural frequencies using this equation
de = sqrt(eigs(Stiffness_Global,Mass_Global,12,'smallestabs'))/((2*pi));
and the result I got is this:
Now, how can I calculate mode shapes of these frequencies and plot them..?
I tried using this equation
[V,D] = eigs(Stiffness_Global,Mass_Global,12,'smallestabs')
but the results, I cannot understand them
Does anyone know..?

I read it, but I cannot understand how he did it....

Check the PlotModeShapes function in that.
Your eigenvector is V. You have degrees of freedom in an order, pick the dof which corresponds to deflection/ displacement and use plot.
