when using boxplot as variable, as follows...
z = boxplot(x)
where x is a simple vector of random data, what is the meaning of the outputs in the vector 'z'. For example, using a a 1 by 15 vector for x, the out put is a 7 by 1 vector.
x = [13, 9, 18, 15, 14, 21, 7, 10, 11, 20, 5, 18, 37, 16, 17];
z =
0.0006
1.0006
2.0006
3.0006
4.0006
5.0006
6.0006
what are these values?

you are using r2014a or earlier and those numbers are the graphics handle identifiers for the line objects that were created for the boxplot. You can get(z) to examine the objects
