Ok so i have a laptop with no dvd drive in it and i have a matlab dvv R2011a that i definitely need to have on my laptop. I am running ubuntu 12.04 and i tried to burn the dvd as an .iso file on a usb drive and tried to install it through the usb on my laptop, but to no success. Is there any way i can get a download version of what i have as a dvd... can also provide more info about my product if needed. Or is there a better way around my problem that i am not seeing. The error i get is usually before the matlab install gui is launched it just gives me a bunch of i think missing links. I personally think it's because i cant use my orginal dvd to install the program. Please help me. HELP i need somebody....HELP not just anybody.......
thanks

I would have thought you would be able to simply copy the dvd contents to the usb and then install off of there ?

Are you running 64-bit Linux? the student version only supports 32-bit linux. There are a number of questions here about trying to install the 32-bit student version on 64-bit ubuntu.
