Unresponsive install dialog window for linux installer of MATLAB 2020a

21 views (last 30 days)
I'm trying to upgrade my 2019b MATLAB installations on Fedora Core 30 and Ubuntu 18.04.
When I run the install script contained in the downloaded zip archive, a dialog window appears, but it is very difficult to interact with it. This is the window:
When I put the cursor inside the entry boxes, I can't type in the required information. I can successfully click "Advanced Options" and "Sign In"--the window is responsive to those clicks. But I can't actually enter the information.

For me the workaround of "Changeing the window focus mode to "click" instead of "mouse" in the settings" did not work on Debian 11. Only "Switching the desktop environment to XFCE." helped.
Pls fix your stuff. This bug is 3 years old after all.
