It would be helpful if you can share the reproduction steps or the code that you are working on which is causing the error!

When you open the filterBuilder tool by typing:
filterBuilder
at the MATLAB® command prompt, the Response Selection dialog box appears, listing all possible filter responses available in DSP System Toolbox.
by choosing type of filter and required algorithm when you press view filter response error occurs.

even running this code gave error due to fvtool:
N = 100; % FIR filter order
Fp = 20e3; % 20 kHz passband-edge frequency
Fs = 96e3; % 96 kHz sampling frequency
Rp = 0.00057565; % Corresponds to 0.01 dB peak-to-peak ripple
Rst = 1e-4; % Corresponds to 80 dB stopband attenuation
eqnum = firceqrip(N,Fp/(Fs/2),[Rp Rst],'passedge'); % eqnum = vec of coeffs
fvtool(eqnum,'Fs',Fs,'Color','White') % Visualize filter

I am unable to reproduce the error with the given code, but I am not sure why, currently you can try running the same code on Matlab Online and see if the same issue persists. Link to Matlab Online:

@maadhav ,thanks ,it worked.
but the problem is i cannot use functions like filterBuilder in online mode.
so its important to remove this fvtool error in installed matlab version.

@walter
this is only code i m running.
N = 100; % FIR filter order
Fp = 20e3; % 20 kHz passband-edge frequency
Fs = 96e3; % 96 kHz sampling frequency
Rp = 0.00057565; % Corresponds to 0.01 dB peak-to-peak ripple
Rst = 1e-4; % Corresponds to 80 dB stopband attenuation
eqnum = firceqrip(N,Fp/(Fs/2),[Rp Rst],'passedge'); % eqnum = vec of coeffs
fvtool(eqnum,'Fs',Fs,'Color','White') % Visualize filter

Can you please try running the following command in your Matlab Command window as suggested by Walter:
which -all xlabel
As probably there might be another file on your path with the same name xlabel, which might be causing this error.
