Simulating a buffer with a specific size to store video segments

I need to test the effect of buffer size in adaptive streaming. I have 5 videos of different bitrates and need to store different segments in a buffer with a specific size of 10s.

I used videoReader to read different video qualities and use the read to read(vid,frame#) to read the frames. As per my understanding, matlab can only process images and im not sure how to convert to images since frame2im didnt work.

Also, I need to simulate a buffer that will then play out the selected and stored segments and Im trying to use the asyncbuffer.
