Hi all,
This may be a no-brainer for some but I need your help.
I generate complex valued images and would like to save of the imaginary part of the images as separate images.
For example,
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A = 1024x1024 complex valued image
B = angle (A);
I save B in matlab format then generate an image which I typically save as TIFF.
figure;imagesc(B);axis equal off;colormap gray;
saveas(gcf,strcat('B_phase',num2str(i),'.tif'));
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do I lose any information by saving these images in tif format?
Furthermore, I generate images that are double precision initially and save them as tif.
Is there a loss of information and what is the best format to save these images in?
Thank you for your assistance,
Arthur

Hi,
TIFF is currently the best format to save images with least loss (best of my knowledge).
For further understanding kindly have a look at the following documents:
Hope it helps!!
