Matlab Compiler Runtime does not start

Whenever I call Matlab functions deployed as jar archives from a Java application (Eclipse-Plugin / OSGi-Bundle) I get certain error dialogs when the Matlab Compiler Runtime is supposed to be started:

Warning: Class com/mathworks/jmi/NativeMatlab not found -- unable to register native methods

and

Warning: Failed to set up java output streams

I found some older topics in various boards related to these errors, so this seems to have been a common problem in the past. Unfortunately no one has ever posted a solution to this (at least I haven't found one yet).

Does anyone know about this problem and can help me?
