Hello,
I used the MATLAB GUI to borrow a license for several products.
To test if it worked, I turned off my WiFi and tried starting MATLAB, but I get the following error.

You do not appear to have borrowed the license for MATLAB itself; and it seems like the license in your account and in the applications directory do not have the license for MATLAB.

The MATLAB license may need to be borrowed as well, unless you have a LNU (Login Named User) license for it on your system.
LNU is the standard kind of individual license technology. When network licenses are available (as would be required to use license borrowing at all), it is possible for there to also be a local named user license, but there is not necessarily one.
