I'm using app designer. I've noticed I can't undo or remove grid layout. Is there any solution for this problem? I'm using Matlab R2019b.

Hi,
Go to Canvas Tab, remove the tick on the "Show Grid" box.

%% create grid layout
hFig = uifigure; g = uigridlayout(hFig)
%% create buttons on it
b1 = uibutton(g)
b2 = uibutton(g)
b3 = uibutton(g)
b4 = uibutton(g)
g.delete % remove

But this approach is useless. I need something in GUI to easily remove it without programmatically remove it.

Hello Bandar, I am facing same issue, were able to remove the grid layout. Can you please explain me the method? I accidentally added the gridlayout, now I want to delete it withou out deleting the dependent child components.

  1. Click on the GridLayout section in the Component Browser.
  2. There should be a small button towards the left side of the GUI Window.
  3. Click on the button. There, you will find the option to disable the Grid Layout.

Starting in R2022a, you can remove a grid layout manager from your app and convert the components in the grid to use pixel-based positioning. Please see more information here: Use Grid Layout Managers in App Designer - MATLAB & Simulink - MathWorks China
