I am using an ir sensor for measuring the speed which is to be feedback through ds1104 to my simulink file. But I am getting a train of pulses but unable to convert it to rpm.so please help.

Frequency of the pulse train is equal to the speed of the machine in RPS(Rotation per second). Dividing RPS/60=RPM. You need a frequency counter to measure the frequency of the pulse train in DS1104.
GOOD LUCK...

Please try a resistor on output of ir speed sensor because i had also faced this. This type of problem are arised due to some kind of load variations, weather the voltages are not complete or there is something improper wiring in a practical circuit.
