How to read all images from two folders and show them and also count the number of images

Can someone send me the complete code for
  1. Loading all images from two folders
  2. Show all images
  3. Count the total number of images

path_directory1='folder1_name_here';
count1=length(dir([path_directory1 '/*.image_extention_format']));
path_directory2='folder2_name_here';
count2=length(dir([path_directory2 '/*.image_extention_format']));
total_images=count1+count2
