How to change the state to 'busy' in the left corner when running an app? so I can sure that the app is running.

You can modify the state message with the “statusbar” utility

...

statusbar(0, 'Busy...'); %# Set the status message

test; %# Run your function/script

statusbar(0, ''); %# Clear the status message
