How to turn off autocomplete in a live script

5 views (last 30 days)
I would like to turn off the "autocomplete" feature of the Live Editor. Just in case "autocomplete" is not the correct word for this, see the screenshot, below. I just typed in "p", and in response the Live Editor opened up a pop-up window of suggestions (pade, partfrac, etc.) and displays a suggested completion using the first item in this list (in this case, "pade", so it suggests appending "ade" to the "p" I typed in).
Long story short, I find this feature very disruptive, and I would like to turn it off. How do I do that? Thanks in advance.

Hi Frederick,
Go to Home > Preferences (under Environment Section) > MATLAB > Keyboard > Under Live Editor and App Designer > Show on Tab.

In my MATLAB 2019 version there exists no Live-Editor-Preferences under the Keyboard-Settings. Is there an other way to turn it off? I hate this autocomplete...

Hi Michael.
I am using 2019a and the option to change the Live Editor Autocomplete settings is available under 'Live Editor and App Designer'. Please refer the attached image.
