Hey all,
under my Matlab m file fold, usually there are some *~ file, which is generated automatically. Sometime, it is a bit annoying, is there anyway to stop it?
To be clear, for example, say I have a file named test.m, the system will automatically gives me test.m~ file, which I don't want it.
Thanks.
Mike

Look in the preferences for the automatic creation of backup files: File > Preferences > Editor/Debugger > Autosave. I suggest to copy these files to an extra folder, e.g. D:\Temp\M-File_Backup, because from time to time undoing the changes of the last 5 minutes will be useful.

Try this:
File -> Preferences -> Editor/Debugger -> Autosave
Look in the "Close options" group box. Is the "Automatically delete autosave files" checkbox checked? You might want to check that. It will keep autosave files open only while MATLAB is running and then delete them when it shuts down.
