I'm trying to install R2017a on fedora 30 and it's not working. I'm under the university site licence. I set up the installer_input.txt as the university said - in silent mode. But when I go to install it pops up a gui asking for the license file. The trouble is that the gui doesn't let me type anything into the box!
Has anyone had sucess with installing matlab on fedora 30?

I'll answer my own question. That particular window is restricted to only numerical values for the "file installation key". I was trying to put in the name of the license file.
I've now got it up and running and can get to work!
