scale factor for constantGammaClutter model in phase array toolbox

2 views (last 30 days)
Hello,
I'm wondering if any scale factor is needed to scale the outputs from constantGammaClutter model to simulate the clutter. Per my understanding, if all parameters are set correctly, then the return from this function should be good, right? if the output is very low (such as < -100dB), does this mean some parameters are wrong or something else?
thank you very much for your help.

The magnitude is determined by many factos, like the power and the value of gamma parameter. In addition, if your altitude is high, then the free space loss could be over 100dB. Therefore, it's hard to say whether it's right or wrong without seeing the parameters.

Thanks for your reply. I thought the model does consider all these factors even for high altitude with large free space loss, if the input parameters are reasonable, the output should be reasonalbe, right? Does this mean for the high altitude case, scale factor is needed?
thank you very much for your help.
