Linear Analysis of Matlab Function Blocks in Simulink

Hi,

I was wondering if utilizing linear analysis methods, such as the linmod, or linearize command in Matlab, or the linear analysis tool in Simulink, would work on Matlab function blocks, or if those blocks had discontinuities meaning it would require a linear approximation.
