I have created an app using android studio that simply records an audio. I want to be able to send that audio over to matlab to do some analysis and then return a text to display back on the android app. I tried converting matlab code to C/C++ using Matlab coder but I run into problems because I am using built-in functions like bandpower etc. and it couldnt convert my code. I am just trying to recieve a recording and send it over to matlab and then return a text back to the app. Any recommendations on creating a server? I have looked into Application developer on matlab but I still did not know how to connect that andriod. Any help please.

1) You can use Simulink Support Package for Android Devices to convert a Simulink Model to Android Application. You can embed your MATLAB code in MATLAB function block and use this with other Android Blocks and create Android Applications with one Click. You Audio Capture block which captures audio from Android device.
2) If any of the functions are not codegen supported, then you can use external mode to communicate between Simulink and Android device.
Following are the some of the audio examples which can run on Android device.
