syms behaving differently in terminal and script.

When I try to run this as a script the following message is displayed while if I run the same command in the terminal I get my desired value x(0) = a0. I don't understand where am I going wrong?

syms t a0 a1 a2 a3

x(t) = a0 + a1*t + a2*t^2 + a3*t^3;
xdot(t) = a1 + 2*a2*t + 3*a3*t^2;

x(0)= 1;
