call fortran code from matlab

I have a matlab code to compute some variables. i have another fortran code that computes another variable. I wanna make matlab open fortran and run it then takes the output as an initial value to compute another variables. can somebody help? and thank you in advance.

If the code is pretty simple..convert the Fortran code to MATLAB and use....else you should explore the option of mex files.

Thanks for responding.. but my code is not that simple. Thus, could u show the steps required by a simple code example please. If so, I would be so thankful for your help :)
you must use fortran mex file. in this way, matlab call fortran exacutable file.
