Silly doubt which has been frustrating me:
Recently, whenever I try to open a second script, the first one gets closed, i.e the second one replaces the first. I want it to open in a new tab instead. I tried docking/undocking the editor, but no use. What settings did I accidentally change? Please help.

Try resetting the layout - In the "Home" tab in the MATLAB toolstrip, click "Layout" and select "Default." This will return the MATLAB workspace to the default layout.
And then check out the following, see if it helps.
