uitable - how to set selectionhighlight off?

For current version, it appears that Proper SelectionHighlight is not working. What is the alternative way to do it?

Ding - please clarify what you mean by is not working. Also, include your version (is this r2018a?).
r2017a. In Matlab help file, it says both properties Select and SelectionHighlight were without effect, and would be removed for future version.
Ding is very correct. I have this issue too. Here is the text from the help section.
"The behavior of the SelectionHighlight property changed in R2014b, and it is not recommended. It no longer has any effect on UIControl objects. This property might be removed in a future release."
This is a great feature because it sort of locks all the UIControls in place and prevents the user from moving them. And I don't have to tell you that if you're trying to check a very small box, this process can be infuriating...
So matlab, WHY?!?!!
I called math works about this problem and it was embarrassingly simple to fix (for my issue at least). All I had to do was disable the toolbar for the entire figure and enable the toolbar for the axes that I needed to have some functionality.
The issue was that the figure toolbar governs all uicontrols. To take that away you just need to disable the toolbar
F=figure(...,’Toolbar’,’off’,...);
