Could we have two student licenses at the same time?

Hi, I have a question regarding student license. At the moment I have one license free from my university as a student. I intend to install it to my another laptop so that I could work faster with different simulations at the same time (currently I am doing my thesis). I read some questions regarding installing one license to two devices, but some said yes and some said no, so I am a bit confused.
I intend to install it to my another laptop and try to run it. However, if the worst case I could not run it at the same time, I want to buy student license. Is it possible to have two student licenses? As it is cheaper than Home version.
Thank you in advance for your help.

The license you probably have from your university is not a student license, but some type of TAH (total academic headcount). In general you can install that on multiple machines. Should that not be the case, you are indeed allowed to buy another license to use Matlab on a different machine.
To confirm this, you can contact Matworks itself. Questions on this forum are answered most of the times by volunteers, not by Mathworks employees. You can contact support with the Contact Us button at the top of the page.

Hello, I see you took Rik's suggestion and contact MathWorks. I moved the question to the right team earlier today. The will give you a straightforward answer to your question. I would like however discuss how to address the underlying problem, not your workaround.
The underlying problem appears to be you want to speed up a simulation. Probably you like a factor of 200 more than a factor of 2 ;-) . Here, you have a couple of options including leveraging Parallel Computing Toolbox and MATLAB Distributed Computing Server. Both is available at your university and I suggest you work with your professor how to leverage those tools. If your professor needs help too, you can contact me directly.
