I get a code as follow :
% Degrees of freedom
% Assemble a column matrix containing all DOFs at which stiffness is
% present in the model:
DOF=getdof(Elements,Types);
However, I don't know what DOF mean
I guess. It is degree of freedom.
Please explain for me DOF ?
Thank you very much

The number and types of joints, gears, and constraints in a mechanism partially determine its mobility—the total number of degrees of freedom, or DoFs, that the mechanism provides and therefore the minimum number of input variables needed to fully constrain its configuration. refer https://in.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sm/ug/mechanism-degrees-of-freedom.html

Thank you very much. Please explain for me this code
function [L,I]=selectdof(DOF,seldof,varargin)
%SELECTDOF Select degrees of freedom.
% % L=selectdof(DOF,seldof)
% [L,I]=selectdof(DOF,seldof)
% L=selectdof(DOF,seldof,'Ordering',ordering)
% creates the matrix to extract degrees of freedom from the global degrees of
% freedom by matrix multiplication. %
% DOF Degrees of freedom (nDOF * 1)
% seldof Selected DOF labels (kDOF * 1)
% L Selection matrix (kDOF * nDOF)
% I Index vector (kDOF * 1)
% ordering 'seldof','DOF' or 'sorted' Default: 'seldof'
% Ordering of L and I similar as seldof, DOF or sorted
What seldof mean ?
