Error while opening Simulink model

I've been trying to open a Simulink model that was last saved in 2017a in 2017b. The model was opened in 2017b before, and nothing has been done that would make model incompatible with 2017b (A few arrows were changed). Still, I receive the following error message:

I know this is late, and you've probably resolved the issue by now, but for anyone else wondering, it's an easy fix. The file name for you simulink model just needs to be changed to something that Matlab would accept as a variable name - that is, any name that fits into the rules here.

Hi Joel,
This issue is caused by the improper naming of the Simulink model.
Please refer to the below mentioned documentation for the rules regarding variable naming in Simulink:
