unable to find the minimum element

Hi, I'm trying to find the minimum element of the array B

 >> B

 B =

         0
   15.4119
   36.3073
   37.6769

my command is

 val = min(B);

Unfortunately, i'm getting the following error

 Subscript indices must either be real positive integers or logicals.

 Error in faceClassifier (line 23)
 val = min(B);

what should be the command to find the most minimum element of this column array... ?!
