Matlab+Simulink for a small community Microgrid smiluation

Hello all;
I am a Control Engineer, doing my Master's Thesis on the Control of Microgrids (On a Scada/DCS Level).
I have never used Matlab/Simulink before; However, I have a good experience in Control and Programming.
My aim is to model a Microgrid for a small residential community in the UK, without using any hardware, to simulate the interaction between the loads, renewable energy generation, and the grid, then apply some cost optimization algorithm to conduct my analysis.
The system that I am aiming to simulate would consist of a small Solar Farm, Battery storage, and a diesel generator; pretty much similar to the following case study:
I am trying to find/build a flexible microgrid model that I can use to add a cost optimization algorithm by myself and analyze it.
I would like to finish the main model within the next two weeks, then I can add the optimization algorithm and conduct my analysis within the following two weeks.
Is that time frame achievable, and how can I can a template/model that I can start working on?
I really appreciate your help.
Thanks Kind Regards;
Mahmoud

The following MATLAB documentation link shows the example model of a small scale micro grid modeled using the Simscape Power Systems product from MathWorks. This might be something good to start with. https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/sps/examples/simplified-model-of-a-small-scale-micro-grid.html

Hello Sruthi, Is it possible to have access to the model data as the system fails to run if slight changes are made. If yes, how is it done. Thanks
