combining planes of data

i have 512 planes of data of matrix.how can i combine these matrix into a 3d matrix

Well, hopefully these 512 planes are not in 512 numbered variables as Thorsten assumed in his answer.

If it is indeed the case, then the better question would be 'how to create the data in the first place so as not to have 512 numbered variables?'.

If not, then what form do these 512 planes take at present.
